Deputy Foreign Minister of Artsakh Armine Alexanian Received the AGBU Delegation
On April 22, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh Republic) Armine Alexanian received a group of young activists of the Armenian General Benevolent (AGBU) accompanied by Director of the AGBU Europe, Nicolas Tavitian, who had arrived in Artsakh in the frameworks of the campaign ‘For Karabakh’ initiated by the AGBU Europe.
On April 5, 2017, in accordance with the arrangement reached with the authorities of the Republic of Artsakh, the OSCE Mission conducted a planned monitoring of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Artsakh and Azerbaijan, in the direction of Hadrut region, near Karakhanbeyli.
Statement by the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Artsakh
Today marks exactly one year since the end of military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh with a view to resolving the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict by force. On the night of 1 to 2 April 2016, in flagrant violation of the ceasefire, the Azerbaijani armed forces launched a large-scale offensive along the entire border using heavy equipment, artillery and aviation. Only after suffering heavy losses in manpower and military equipment, on 5 April 2016, Azerbaijan was forced to ask for a cessation of hostilities with the mediation of Russia.
Working Meeting at the Foreign Ministry
On March 31, a working meeting, headed by Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan, took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, with the participation of the MFA senior staff and staff-members of the Central Office. The meeting was aimed at summarizing the activities of the Ministry for 2016.
Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh and Armenia
On March 24, regular consultations between Artsakh and Armenian Foreign Ministries took place. From the Artsakh side Deputy Foreign Ministers Armine Aleksanyan and Felix Khachatrian, as well as staff-members of the relevant departments of the Foreign Ministry took part at the consultations, while Deputy Foreign Minister Ashot Hovakimyan represented the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
Artsakh Foreign Minister Received the Delegation of Belgian MPs
On March 20, Artsakh Republic Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan received the delegation of members of the Belgian Federal and Brussels Regional parliament, who had arrived in Artsakh on the initiative of the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy.
The Visit of the Foreign Minister of Artsakh to Greece Has Ended
On March 15, at the initiative of the Center for Mediterranean, Middle East and Islamic Studies of the University of Peloponnese, the ARF Armenian National Committee of Greece, and the Institute of International Relations of the Panteion University, an event entitled "Stability and Security in the Caucasus: the Situation in Nagorno Karabakh" took place. It was attended by Patriarchal Vicar Archbishop Komitas Ohanian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Greece Fadei Charchoghlyan, independent member of the Greek Parliament Haris Theoharis, representatives of the Armenian community organizations, lecturers, students, and journalists.
